Raquel was born on November 8th, 1905 in Parral.  Raquel's father was Marcos Eusebio Latham (Hall) and her mother was Julia Contreras (Rodriguez).  Her paternal grandparents were Eusebio Latham Esquella and Emilia Hall (Smith). She had four brothers and four sisters, named Eusebio, Carlos, Luis, Jorge, Julia, Emilia, María and María. She had three half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Eusebio, Oscar, Francisco, Laura, Otilia, Berta, Alicia, Ofelia and Victoria.  She died at the age of 26 on December 8th, 1931 in Santiago.
