Julia was born on December 25th, 1904 in San Gregorio.  Julia's father was Marcos Eusebio Latham (Hall) and her mother was Julia Contreras (Rodriguez).  Her paternal grandparents were Eusebio Latham Esquella and Emilia Hall (Smith). She had four brothers and four sisters, named Eusebio, Carlos, Luis, Jorge, Raquel, Emilia, María and María. She had three half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Eusebio, Oscar, Francisco, Laura, Otilia, Berta, Alicia, Ofelia and Victoria.
