Benjamin Allen PATE

    Benj. Allen Pate was my gr-gr-grandfather. Although his wife was named as Pickett when they married, I believe this was her 2nd marriage as in 1850 they had a 10 yr old Jonathon Pickett with them. She may have been an Elswick or a Stokes, the census vary on where she was born, NY or VT. Benj.'s mother was Mary Oram dau of Samuel and Mary Oram of Clark Co. KY. Samuel died in KY, but Mary Oram moved to Monroe Co., IN where she died. My gr-grandmother was Benj. and Permelia's dau, Mary Ann, who marr. Thomas Nicholas Jackson in in 1872 in Daviess Co.,IN.  I joined DAR on Thomas Pate of Bedford Co.,VA. Have several early wills etc.  Linda Knapp
