    1. BENJAMIN ALLEN6 PATE (THOMAS5, EDWARD4, JOHN3, JOHN2, THOMAS1) was born 1762, and died 1825. He married JUDITH PATE 16 December 1790 in Bedford Co., Virginia, daughter of JEREMIAH PATE and MARY //. She was born Abt. 1770 in Virginia, and died Abt. 1805 in Breckinridge Co., Kentucky.

    My Benjamin Allen Pate was the son of Allen Pate and Mary Oram of Breckenridge Co., KY (Allen was born in Bedford Co. Va s/o Benjamin Allen Pate and Judith Pate, his cousin). Mary Oram was d/o Samuel and Mary Oram of Clark Co., KY. Allen Pate was in the War of 1812 in Ky and then moved to Lawrence Co., IN and then to Martin Co., IN
    
    Does not appear in Breckinridge, KY in 1830.  Son Allen is still there.
    
    1820 US Census for Stephens Port, Breckinridge, KY has Ben A PATE 011101-00110-400-001002etc., thus one free white male age 10-16 (1804-1810), one free white male age 16-18 (1802-1804), one free white male age 16-26 (1794-1804), and one free white male age 45+ (<1775), plus one free white female age 16-26 (1794-1804) and one free white female age 26-45 (1775-1794); four persons engaged in agriculture; one male slave 26-45 (1775-1794) and two female slaves 26-45 (1775-1794).
    There is an Allen PATE in Stephens Port, Breckinridge, KY in 1820:

    one male age 16-26 (est b 1794-1804) (Allen)
    one female age 16-26 (est b 1794-1804) (Mary Ann?)
    one female age 0-10 (est b 1810-1820)
    two persons in h/hold engaged in agriculture

    Names are alphabetized; preceding entries are (1) Ben A. (011101-00110, 3 slaves), (2) Edward (220101-10010, 12 slaves) and (3) Saml PATE (000100-00100, no slaves), followed by (4) Allen.  Other PATEs in same year/county (5) John C. 400010-11100, one male slave age 0-14) and (6) Jeremiah (100100-00100, no slaves) (misindexed as William, which is first name of following record w/diff surname); both last are also in Stephens Port (Roll: M33_16, Page: 285, Image Number: 149).  There is one ORAM (soundex) in Breckinridge in 1820:  Saml 100010-00100-200, elder male age 26-45 (1775-1794), two persons engaged in agriculture, no slaves (Roll: M33_16, Page: 281, Image Number: 147), but no QUEEN.  Age breakdown, indicated at top of page,  is male 0-10, 10-16, 16-18, 16-26, 26-45, 45+, female 0-10, 10-16, 16-26, 26-45, 45+, persons in agric/comm/mfg, male slaves 0-14, 14-26, 26-45, 45+, female slaves same.

    1810 US Census for Breckinridge, KY has Benjamin PATE 1101100211008-fifteen, thus one free white male 0-10 (1800-1810), one free white male 10-16 (1794-1800) (son Allen?), one free white male 26-45 (1765-1784), one free white male 45+ (<1765) (Benjamin?), plus two free white females 16-26 (1784-1794), one free white female 26-45 (1765-1784) and one free white female 45+ (<1765), ten (total free white persons?), twenty (slaves?).  Two entries down is Edward PATE 22120110100-ten-twenty, thus eldest two males 26-45 (1765-1784); six entries down is William PATE 1001000010069, thus eldest male 26-45 (1765-1784).  Previous page (306) has William PATE 111011100009-fifteen, thus eldest male 45+ (<1765) and Edward PATE 1110111000017, thus eldest male 45+ (<1765).  Columns not labeled either on this page or first page of reel.  Record not alphabetized.  Also in Breckinridge (Roll 4, Page 304) is John PATE 2110011100029.
