Source: son, John's, marriage record in Dromore Seceder Church. May be from Crosscanealy as John gave that as his residence. He also gave Crosscandly in his Civil Marriage record, which shows that his father was a John Boyd. Crosscanealy (Glebe) is immediately south of Ballylintagh, which in turn is immediately west of Dromore.
From the Londonderry Sentinel:
66-10 09-Jan-66
January 5, in Aghadowey Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. John Brown, D.D., Mr. Samuel Boyd, Crosscandly, to Anne, youngest daughter of Mr. Robert Anderson, Ballinrees.
BB has now found these births on the IGI, which also confirm that Samuel came from Crosscanealy:

The 1860 Education Commission Report has Samuel leaving Coleraine model school in October 1855 and going to teach in Culleyvenney National School.
The Will of Thomas Gage late of Culdrum County Londonderry Farmer who died 10 May 1875 at same place was proved at Londonderry by Samuel Boyd of Crosscandley in said County School Teacher one of the Executors. What is the connection to the Gages?!
From PRONI Will calendars:
Probate of the Will of Samuel Boyd late of Crosscandley County Londonderry Retired Schoolmaster who died 28 January 1903 granted at Londonderry to John Boyd Schoolmaster.
1901 Census: Crosscandly Glebe, 3rd Class house, Samuel Boyd, Head, Pres., 68, Ex Teacher (Farmer), Married.
This must be Samuel in the GVRBs:
- 6Ab – Samuel Boyd moves in in 1868/9 (but the IL is John Boyd NOT Thomas Boyd)
- he s/o to John Boyd in 1892 (the IL John Boyd s/o to Samuel Boyd also in 1892)
- he s/o to Mary Boyd in 1898
- she s/o to Nancy Boyd in 1905
- she s/o to Wm Henry in 1906
........he leaves this property in 1892 and moves to this one:
Crosscanley
7A + B + C + D (only one hse and it is on A) – John Boyd Jnr
- Jnr (only) s/o in 1868/9
- he seems to acquire Hse 6Ac as well by Book 3)
- he scored out to Samuel Boyd in 1892
- he s/o tp Nancy Boyd in 1904
- she s/o to Wm Henry in 1906
- he s/o to Jas N Reid in 1919
................it is interesting that Nancy Boyd acquires both these properties. I am assuming it is his wife. She in turn passes both onto William Henry in 1906. I suspect she must have died in this year. It is also interesting that a William Henry acquires John Brewster's land in Glenhall in 1886 - does this show a connection between the Boyds and the Brewsters? Is it even the same Wm Henry? And why does Jas Reid acquire so much Boyd land in the end?
