Source: Civil Marriage entry. Her father was John Boyd of Crosscanley, no occupation given; she should be the daughter of John married to Martha Williamson but that would mean Rachel could be no older than 20 when she married.
Also of interest, one of the witnesses was a Samuel Boyd. Is this the Samuel Boyd whose son, John, eventually married Rachel's half sister, Martha? And if so, just what was the link between Samuel and Rachel's father, John. I have always suspected there had to be one as they both live in Crosscanley at times.
Rachel may have died young as a Robert Blair of the right age is living with William Boyd, son of John Boyd of Crosscanley, in Drumcroon in the 1901 census.
