General Notes

Al Luce:
Hester Bellingham (John1)  was born in Kilrea, Co Londonderry, No Ireland 18 Mar 1874.   Hester died 28 Feb 1967 at 92 years of age.

EIR shows Essie Bellingham, aged 20, Jane Bellingham, Jane Bellingham, aged 17 and Unnamed Bellingham, aged 30, arriving in New York from Londonderry, on the Furnessia on 16th September 1895.  I assume this is Hessie and Jane is her cousin, my grandmother's sister.  Jane is given as a dressmaker, on her way to Ohio, whereas Essie and the unnamed lady were on their way to NY and were servants.  On 3rd December 1895, a Francis Bellingham, Blacksmith, aged 18, arrived on the Furnessia from Londonderry.  I assume this is her brother.
 
She married Edward McKay in New York City, New York, 18 Oct 1898.  Edward was born in Ireland May 1871.  Edward died 4 Dec 1946 at 75 years of age.  Edward owned and operated a garage.
Hester Bellingham and Edward McKay had the following children:
i.     Ruth McKay was born in New York 1901.  Ruth worked as a clerk in an insurance office.
ii.     Edward B McKay was born in New York 1903.  Edward was a clerk at an oil refining company.
iii.     Margaret McKay was born in New York 1905.  Margaret was a secretary in a physicians office.
iv.     Robert D McKay was born in New York 1912.
v.     Estelle V McKay was born 1917.
