His wife Janet (or Jennet) Crawford (or Crawfurd), (to whom he was married in February 1770 at Cumnock, Old Cumnock Parish, Kyle District, Ayr County, Scotland), was born in 1750 (according to her tombstone); died in November 1800 (according to her tombstone); buried in 1800 at the Old Cemetery, Cumnock, Old Cumnock Parish, Kyle District, Ayr County, Scotland.
