Marion's father was Francis Dickson Savage and her mother was Helen (Ellen) Lindsay. Her paternal grandparents were Hugh Savage and Margaret Dickson. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Hugh, William, Francis, Robert, Margaret, Maggie, Mary and Effie. She died at the age of 60 in 1949 in Stewarton.
