Adam's father was John Adam Robertson and his mother was Georgina Wason. His maternal grandparents were William Wason and Susan Flinn. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Hugh, William, Robert, Susan and Sadie. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 91 on September 9th, 1994 in Pennsylvania.
