Jessie was born in 1844 in Barony parish.1 2  Jessie's father was Alexander Rennie and her mother was Janet Ross.  Her paternal grandparents were James Rennie and Janet Stronach; her maternal grandparents were James Ross and <Unknown>. She had two brothers and a sister, named David, James and Euphemia.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Peter and Anne.  She died from a stroke, cerebral haemmorhage, 8 days, at the age of 87 on December 9th, 1931 in Glasgow.3
