William Reid

William was born in 1845 in Newton-on-Ayr.^1 2   William's father was Alexander Reid and his mother was Ann McKinlay.  His paternal grandparents were Adam Reid and Catharine Fulton. He had three brothers named Alexander, Thomas and Matthew.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Adam, Jane and Catherine.
