Jessie's father was John Pritchard and her mother was Euphemia McKechan Rennie. Her maternal grandparents were Alexander Rennie and Janet Ross. She had five brothers named John, Alexander, David, Edward and Ross. She was the third oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 13 in 1889 in Glasgow.
