Christine was born in 1779.  Christine's father was Christen Andersen Høstgaard and her mother was Karen Andersdatter.  Her paternal grandparents were Anders Christensen Høstgaard and Karen Christensdatter; her maternal grandparents were Anders Jensen Møller and <Unknown>. She had three brothers and a sister, named Anders, Peder, Peder and Kierstine.  She was the youngest of the five children.
