Thomas was born on January 25th, 1821 in St. Quivox.1  Thomas' father was James Aird and his mother was Jane McCrorie.  His paternal grandparents were James Aird and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, William, James, Jane, Sarah and Grace.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
