Martin was born about 1742.  Martin's father was Edward the Walker Marshall and his mother was Elizabeth Oberfeldt Ueberfeldt Overfield.  His paternal grandparents were unknown Marshall and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and five sisters, named William, Moses, edward had 21 children, Peter, Catherine, Elizabeth, Jemima, Naomi and Amy. He had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Peter, Thomas, Edward, Frederick?, William, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, <Unknown> and <Unknown>.  He died before 1821.
