William J Lewis

William J was born on July 4th, 1766 in Augusta Co., Va. William J's father was Col William of Greenbriar Lewis and his mother was Anne Montgomery. His paternal grandparents were John pioneer Lewis and Margaret Lynn. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, John, Thomas, Alexander, Charles W, Margaret Lynn, Agatha and Elizabeth Montgomery. He was the sixth oldest of the nine children.
