John was born in 1799.  John's father was Ahimaz Chambers and his mother was Hannah Marshall.  His paternal grandparents were Anthony Chambers and Magdalene or Catherine Sprotsmar; his maternal grandparents were John Marshall and Deborah LNU. He had three brothers and a sister, named Isaac, Anthony, 9 children and Deborah Marshall.  He died at the age of 45 in 1844.
