Anthony was born in 1797 in Nelson County, Kentucky.  Anthony's father was Ahimaz Chambers and his mother was Hannah Marshall.  His paternal grandparents were Anthony Chambers and Magdalene or Catherine Sprotsmar; his maternal grandparents were John Marshall and Deborah LNU. He had three brothers and a sister, named Isaac, John, 9 children and Deborah Marshall.  He died at the age of 83 in 1880.
