Stacey was born in 1757.  Stacey's father was Matthew Boswell and his mother was Ann??.  His paternal grandparents were John Boswell and Sarah Harris. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Verlinda, Eleanor, Matthew, Mary, Nancy and Sarah.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.
