Nancy was born about 1774.  Nancy's father was Matthew Boswell and her mother was Ann??.  Her paternal grandparents were John Boswell and Sarah Harris. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Stacey, John, William, Verlinda, Eleanor, Matthew, Mary and Sarah.  She was the seventh oldest of the nine children.
