Polly was born in 1785.  Polly's father is Absalom Ailstock and her mother is Sally Goin.  Her paternal grandfather was Chief Keigh-tugh-qua, or Cornstalk Shawnee chieftain and her paternal grandmother is Julia (Scot-Mulatto); her maternal grandparents are Goin and <Unknown>. She has eight brothers and two sisters, named John, Lawrence, Andrew, David, James, Absalom, William, Thomas, Katy and Elizabeth.  She is the third oldest of the eleven children.
