Absalom was born in 1793.  Absalom's father is Absalom Ailstock and his mother is Sally Goin.  His paternal grandfather was Chief Keigh-tugh-qua, or Cornstalk Shawnee chieftain and his paternal grandmother is Julia (Scot-Mulatto); his maternal grandparents are Goin and <Unknown>. He has seven brothers and three sisters, named John, Lawrence, Andrew, David, James, William, Thomas, Katy, Polly and Elizabeth.  He is the nineth oldest of the eleven children.
