Harmand was born on June 2nd, 1794 in doudeville. Harmand's father was Jean Jacques MOGIS and his mother was Charlotte Marie-Francoise PETITON.  His paternal grandparents were Jacques MOGIS and Anne POUPINEL; his maternal grandparents were Michel PETITON and Geneviève RENARD. He had three brothers and a sister, named Mathieu, Alexandre, Honoré Amroise and Françoise.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 60 on September 8th, 1854 in Doudeville, France.
