Françoise was born on March 9th, 1798 in Doudeville, France. Françoise's father was Jean Jacques MOGIS and her mother was Charlotte Marie-Francoise PETITON.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacques MOGIS and Anne POUPINEL; her maternal grandparents were Michel PETITON and Geneviève RENARD. She had four brothers named Harmand, Mathieu, Alexandre and Honoré Amroise.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
