Tami was born on February 14th, 1895. Tami's father was Matsusaburo Motoi and her mother was Ei Ono. Her paternal grandparents were Kichi matsu Motoi and Matsu Asai; her maternal grandparents were Yakichi Ono and Nami Ono. She had a brother and three sisters, named Keisuke, Tei, Hana and Chiyo. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 46 on January 14th, 1942 in Aizu Wakamatsu, Jodo Temple Grounds.
