Hisashi was born on April 19th, 1927. Hisashi's father was Keisuke Motoi and his mother is Sei Teshironi. His paternal grandparents were Matsusaburo Motoi and Ei Ono. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Noboru, Takeshi, Keiko, Teruko and Yasuyuki. He is the third oldest of the six children.
