Thomas was born in 1359 in Kilk, Kilkenny, , Ireland. Thomas' father was James 2nd Earl Ormond Butler and his mother was LADY ELIZABETH Baroness of Hertforth Darcy. His maternal grandparents were SIR JOHN LeNeveu of Knatyth DeDarcy and JOAN DeBurgh. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Ralph, James 3rd Earl Ormond, Felice, Eleanor, Joan and Catherine. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named James 3rd Earl Ormond, JOHANNA and Eleanor. He died at the age of 37 in 1396 in Warrington, Lancashire, , England.-
