2nd Earl of Hertford Roger (The Good) de Clare 
Roger, known as The Good, was born in 1116.1 The Good's father was Lord Richard Fitzgilbert de Clare and his mother was Adeliza de Meschines. His paternal grandparents were 1st Earl of Pembroke, Earl de Clare, Abbot of Ely Gilbert FitzRichard de Clare and Adeliza de Clermont; his maternal grandparents were Earl of Chester Ranulph (de Briquessart) de Meschines III and Countess of Chester Lucia Taillebois. He had two sisters named Alice and Roesia. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Roger and Isabel. He died at the age of 57 in 1173.2 General Notes
