James was born in 1645 in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island.1   James' father was William Weeden and his mother was Abigail Bailey.  His maternal grandparents were Clement Weaver and Rebecca Holbrook. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Phillip, John, William, Jeremiah, Joseph, Thomas, Hannah and Phoebe.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 66 on November 15th, 1711 in Newport, Newport, Rhode Island.1
