John Thomas Underwood 
John Thomas was born on June 3rd, 1868 in Taylor Co., KY. John Thomas' father was Hiram Calloway Underwood and his mother was Mariah Jane Sprowls. His paternal grandparents were Calloway Underwood and Mary Ann "Polly" Oaks. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Jerry B., Joel D., Mary Elizabeth, Lucy Ann, Caroline M. and Nannie White. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 31 in 1899.-
