Robert was born on March 2nd, 1316 in Dundonald, Kyle, Ayrshire, Scotland.1   Robert's father was High Steward Walter of Scotland and his mother was Majorie of Scotland.  His paternal grandparents were Sir James FitzAlan Stewart and Egidia de Burgh; his maternal grandparents were King, Earl of Carrick Robert (The Bruce) of Scotland I and Isabell of Mar. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Andrew and Egidia.  He died at the age of 74 on April 19th, 1390 in Dundonald Castle, Dundonald, Ayrshire, Scotland.1
