Martha Jane Roberts 
Martha Jane was born on October 26th, 1836 in Price Twp, Rockingham Co, NC.1 Martha Jane's father was Thomas Jefferson Roberts and her mother was Arrena Wortha Hopper. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Roberts and Sarah Joyce. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Richard Polk, William Allen, Thomas Jefferson, Sarah Ann, Nancy Susan, Matilda Frances, Eliza Virginia, Lucy Jane and Mariah Elizabeth. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 69 on June 15th, 1906 in Stoneville, Rockingham Co, NC. She was buried in Thomas Roberts Family Cemetery, Rockingham Co, NC.1 1 General Notes
