Sir Robert was born in 1449 in Iron Acton, Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England. Sir Robert's father was John Poyntz and his mother was Alice Cox. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Poyntz and Elizabeth Mill. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, James, Maurice, Anne, Elizabeth and Katherine. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 71 on November 4th, 1520 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.-
