Edmund Plantagenet of Langley

Edmund was born on June 5th, 1341 in Kings Langley, Hertford, England.¹ Edmund's father was Edward Plantagenet of England III and his mother was Countess Phillipa of Hainault. His paternal grandparents were Edward Plantagenet of England II and Isabella Capet of France; his maternal grandparents were Count of Hainault William D'Avesnes III and Joan Jeanne de Valois. He had four brothers and a sister, named Edward, Lionel, John (of Gaunt), Thomas and Mary. He was the third youngest of the six children.
