John A. PAYTON 
John A. was born on October 31st, 1868 in Parke Co., Indiana.1 John A.'s father was Thomas PAYTON and his mother was Martha Ann STOUT. His paternal grandparents were Anthony PAYTON and Margaret WALLINGFORD. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named James Anthony, William Harvey, George Washington, Ora Whaley, James T., Omer Tilden, LaFollette, Mary Frances, Sarah Jane, Nancy Alice and Rhoda Ellen. He died at the age of 9 on September 14th, 1878 in Parke Co., Indiana. He was buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Parke Co., Indiana.2 1 General Notes
