Richard Dickerson NORMAN 
Richard Dickerson was born about 1842. Richard Dickerson's father was James Isaac NORMAN and his mother was Rebecca JOHNSON. His paternal grandfather was William NORMAN. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Calvin Columbus, Greenbury, Elizabeth, Hardin and Cintha. He died in Charlottesville, VA..General Notes
Richard volunteered in one of the first Surry groups to organize for the Civil War. He died less than 7 mo. later on 1/1/1862 of chronic diarrhea at a Charlottesville, VA. hospital where he had gone on Christmas Eve.
His father, James, filed for his pay on 10/1/1862.
