Greenbury NORMAN 
Greenbury's father was James Isaac NORMAN and his mother was Rebecca JOHNSON. His paternal grandfather was William NORMAN. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Richard Dickerson, Calvin Columbus, Elizabeth, Hardin and Cintha.General Notes
Green lived with his parents before the war. He volunteered at Surry on 5/20/1861, when he was 23 years old. He had pneumonia from 2/27/1862 to 4/14/1862. Taken prisoner by the enemy 7/4/1862 at White House, VA., He was POW at Ft. Monroe, VA. until sent to James River, VA., Aiken's Landing, where he was exchanged 8/5/1862. From Jan to Feb. in 1865, he was an ambulance driver. He was at the surrender at Appomattox Court House, Va. on 4/9/1865, where he took the Oath of Allegiance.
