James Madison NORMAN Sr. 
James Madison was born in 1732 in Culpeper, Virginia Colony/Spotsylvania Co., VA.. James Madison's father was Joseph T. Norman and his mother was Mary READ. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Norman and Frances C. Courtney. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Isaac, William, Mary and Winney. He was the oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Thomas, John, Sally, Kesiah, Peggy, Fanny and Mimey. He died at the age of 96 on January 29th, 1828 in Wilkes Co., N. C.. He was buried in Norman Graveyard, Home Place, Wilkes Co., N. C..General Notes
They migrated to N. Carolina during the early 1750's. He paid poll tax there between 1759 - 1769.
Will probated Feb.1828.
There is no mention in his will of his son Joseph.
