William Tompkin Givens 
William Tompkin was born about 1801 in Logan County, Kentucky. William Tompkin's father was Allen Givens and his mother was Martha Robertson. His maternal grandparents were James Robertson and Margaret Poage. He had a brother and four sisters, named James, Polly, Margaret, Betsy and Jane. He was the second oldest of the six children.General Notes
