Nola Shell Foster 
Nola Shell was born about 1875 in North Carolina.1 Nola Shell's father was Joseph Henry Foster and her mother was Louise Angelica Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Weldon " William" Goode Foster and Zilphia "Silpha" Jarvis. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Herman, John Kerr, Ila Ida, Charlotte B., Nannie A, Maggie L and Clara. She was the oldest of the eight children. She had seven half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Joseph William, Joseph W, Arland M, Cleland Miller, Cleland Miller, Alvin W, Alvin, Martha Evelyn, Evelina, Mary Walton, Mary W. and Nina May.-
