She had six brothers and a sister, named Robert Ward, John Taylor, Walter Glenn, James Thomas, Billy Clay, Alvin Gene "Butterbean" and Wilma F. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 67 on April 10th, 1983 in Miami, Florida, USA.-
