Betty Elkin 
Betty was born on September 30th, 1811. Betty's father was Abel Elkin and her mother was Mary (Polly) Skaggs. Her maternal grandparents were William (Squire) Skaggs and Mary Simpson. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William Melton, James, Abel ,Jr., Rachel, Nancy, Polly, Diadema and Melvina. She was the third oldest of the nine children.-
