Anthony was born about 1511. Anthony's father was William COURTENAY and his mother was Margaret EDGCOMBE. His paternal grandparents were William COURTENAY and Cecily CHENEY. He had four brothers named George, Peter, Henry and Nicholas. He was the youngest of the five children.
