Roy's obituary appeared in "The Paris News" on January 8, 1973. It reads as follows: Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Leverett and Steel Funeral Home Chapel for Roy W. Clement, a lifetime resident of Lamar County, who died at 7:05 a.m. Monday in L. P. McQuistion Hosptial. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery for the former Pattonville resident.
Mr.Clement was born 20 Jan 1901 in Clardy, a son of the late R.W. and Betty (Anderson) Clement. A resident of the Gibraltar Hotel at the time of his death, he was a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church. He had been employed as a nurse at McCuistion Hospital for 10 years before his retirement.
Mr. Clement is survived by two brothers, Dugan Clement of Coppell and A. L.Clement of Pattonville; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur King of Pattonville and Mrs. Harry Evans of Paris.
Another article appeared in "The Paris News" on January 11, 1973. It reads as follows: Funeral services for Roy W. Clement, a resident of the Gibraltar Hotel, were conducted Wednesday afternoon in Leverett and Steele Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. J. L. Wideman and Vernon Daniels officiated and burial was made in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Bearers were Roy Clement, Silas Clement, Bobby Clement, Andy Ray Clement, Gary Abbott, Junior Crafton, and Mike Clement. Mr. Clement died Monday morning in L. P. McCuistion Hospital.
