William Valentine Barber 
William Valentine was born in 1856. William Valentine's father was John Marion Barber and his mother was Malvina Sarah Spaw. His paternal grandparents were Charles Barber and Christina Wesley. He had a brother and two sisters, named Andrew Washington, Serelda Jane and Martha F. He was the oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named John Perry, Robin Gossett "Goss", Abagail "Bid", Amanda Francis, Clearenda (Clara), Paralee, Rosa Bell, Elizabeth, Amanda T, Anne and Polly.-
