Andrew Washington was born in 1857. Andrew Washington's father was John Marion Barber and his mother was Malvina Sarah Spaw. His paternal grandparents were Charles Barber and Christina Wesley. He had a brother and two sisters, named William Valentine, Serelda Jane and Martha F. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and nine half-sisters, named John Perry, Robin Gossett "Goss", Abagail "Bid", Amanda Francis, Clearenda (Clara), Paralee, Rosa Bell, Elizabeth, Amanda T, Anne and Polly.-
