John Balcom 
John was born in 1678 in Providence, Providence, Rhode Island.1 John's father was Alexander Bolkcom and his mother was Jane Holbrook. His maternal grandparents were William Holbrook and Elizabeth Pitts. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Alexander, Joseph, Samuel, Katherine, Sarah, Freegift, Lydia, Hannah and Deborah. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 61 on January 30th, 1739.1 General Notes
