Victoria Catherine Ashwell 
Victoria Catherine was born on August 8th, 1869 in Bedford, Va. Victoria Catherine's father was Carey Austin Ashwell and her mother was Frances West Howell. Her paternal grandparents were James "Meredith" ("Meredith") Ashwell and Sarah "Sally" Jane Ellis. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Daniel L., Silas Pleasant, John William, Robert Austin, Alexander Austin, Aubrey, "Infant son", Mary Matilda and Sophia Jane. She was the second oldest of the ten children. She died due to complications from childbirth, scarlet fever,pneumonia at the age of 34 in July 1904 in Bedford, Va. She was buried in Bedford, Va.General Notes
