Sophia Jane Ashwell 
Sophia Jane was born on March 14th, 1878 in Bedford Co, Va. Sophia Jane's father was Carey Austin Ashwell and her mother was Frances West Howell. Her paternal grandparents were James "Meredith" ("Meredith") Ashwell and Sarah "Sally" Jane Ellis. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Daniel L., Silas Pleasant, John William, Robert Austin, Alexander Austin, Aubrey, "Infant son", Victoria Catherine and Mary Matilda. She was the third youngest of the ten children. She died due to Fire: "burnt to death" at the age of 49 on February 7th, 1928 in Bedford Co, Va. She was buried in Bedford Co, Va.General Notes
